At this meeting, we inform you how many treatments will be needed and what the cost of the entire series will be. Then, a target meeting is arranged at which the laser will be used. 

On the day of the treatment, the armpits should be clean and shaved. It is important to avoid using deodorants or other cosmetics on the skin, as they may negatively affect the course of the treatment. During the treatment, a special device emitting a laser beam is used and directed precisely to the armpit area. The laser light penetrates the skin, reaches the hair follicle and destroys it. You may then feel a slight sting or warmth. However, most patients describe their feelings as minimal discomfort. This is because cooling is used during the treatment, which reduces the feeling of heat and protects the skin against irritation.

Skin condition after laser hair removal and recommendations for recovery

Immediately after the treatment, the skin under the arms may be slightly red and irritated, which is a natural reaction. It is then recommended to avoid intense physical exercise, hot baths, sauna and exposure to the sun for at least a few days. It is also important to use gentle care and moisturizing products and avoid deodorants containing alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment.

When is the best time to perform laser hair removal on armpits? 

The best time to perform laser hair removal of armpits is the autumn and winter period, i.e. from late autumn to early spring. During this time, the skin is less exposed to sunlight, which minimizes the risk of irritation and discoloration after the treatment. Moreover, by avoiding intense exposure to the sun, the risk of unwanted skin reactions is reduced. Autumn and winter are also the perfect time to carry out a full series of treatments that require regular visits every few weeks.

Contraindications to laser hair removal of armpits include pregnancy and breastfeeding, active skin infections, fresh tan, taking photosensitizing medications and skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema. The procedure is also not performed in people with a pacemaker and cancer.
